Staff couldn't do enough for us. Great hospitality
Nice soup and roll, coffee not hot enough, new manager so hopefully will improve decor and ambience, good position on A465.
We stayed here in the bunk house while on a cycling holiday. The food was very tasty and breakfast was very filling. The bunk house has its own sitting area and sink and fridge.
We have passed this pub often and thought it would be nice to stop and eat there, it looked nice from the outside. Yesterday was the day we decided to stop and try it. Its true what they say, never judge a book by its cover. The inside was ok, the woman behind the bar was pleasant, that was it!!! The choice of menu was NO BETTER than a supermarket cafe menu, the only differences were the supermarket prices were half the price and they were better presented and cooked. We had to go and check the menu again after receiving our starter as what was plonked infront of us was not all included, the main meal was overcooked, tasteless and very overpriced for what it was, my first and LAST visit. Poor menu poor service poor quality.
We stayed at the campsite next door and decided to go for a spot of food. The place was very welcoming and the staff were nice and friendly. A member of staff came to our table and asked what we would like to drink instead of us going to the bar which was nice touch. We ordered food and the made the effort to alter the choices to suit our needs. The food was reasonable price and of a very good standard. (Delicious the kids say and chips to die for) all in all somewhere we would definatly stop in again when passing this way.
