I live and ride around Abergavenny and do most of my basic maintenance, however I do use Gateway from time to time and found them very helpful. If they don't know something they have pointed me in the right direction. Reading the comments below, well there is two sides to every story and yep stuff is pricey - but take a look about the quality mtb/road bike market and get real, don't expect to pay Halfords prices for a Scott full sus. Even so a good Boardman will set you back some 1200 quid, so Gateway are reasonable. Two top range Maxxis tyres cost me about the same as on line, not bad.

As always I received a first class level of service both polite and extremely informative, having had a small issue with zip on the new item of clothing. I explained the situation with the garment to the staff who asked if I could leave the item with them, I agreed and within an hour the whole situation had been resolved and the item replaced.You tell me where you get this kind of service on the InternetThanks to all the staff for their friendly help and support.P.s To all you internet worriers support the High Street retailer, as time and again they will support you......!
A great shop, massive range with great staff - probably the most knowledgeable mechanics I have met.
I needed a new bottom bracket that day and I wanted someone to run through the threads with a tap. I arrived first thing (on a Saturday) and they were able to do that for me despite it being awkward. This meant that I got to get out on my ride as planned.
